The Hollyhock Hobo Bag in 2 styles - PDF Sewing Pattern

The Hollyhock Hobo bag comes in 2 styles: wide and tall. You can make this bag with either a short strap, a cross body strap or both!

Both styles have exactly the same design features:

• 1 exterior zippered pocket
• 1 exterior cargo pocket on the opposite side with a flap closure
• 2 interior slip pockets
• 1 interior zippered pocket
• trendy side strap details on the exterior where you clip your short or cross body strap
• Pleats and a gusset to give the bag a lot of depth
• Main zippered closure

SUPPLIES:

Exterior fabric:
1.25 yards fabric (less if using vinyl)
1/4 yard vinyl (optional)

Lining fabric:
1.5 yards quilt weight cotton

Interfacing:
5.5 yards Fusible woven interfacing (20” wide)
14” piece of Foam interfacing (20” wide) 
1/2 yard Fusible fleece (45” wide) 
9” W x 3.5” H Peltex sew-in

Notions and supplies:
(2) 7” zippers (#3 or #5) 
Wide main closure: (1) 14” zipper (#3 or #5)
Tall main closure: (1) 12” zipper (#3 or #5)
(1) 18mm magnetic snap
(2) 1” D-rings
(2) 1.5” O-rings OR 1” rectangle rings
(4) purse feet
Short strap:
(2) 1.5” swivels
Adjustable strap:
(2) 1” swivels
(1) 1” slide

Fabritac fabric glue or double-sided tape

MEASUREMENTS: 
Wide: 14” W x 11” H x 5” D
Tall: 12.5” W x 11.5” H x 5” D

SEWING EXPERIENCE: This bag is suitable for an intermediate sewist . It will take about 6-8 hours to complete the first.
