The Cosmos bag is a smaller sized bag that comes with 2 options: a cross body version or a hip bag version. Both versions make great bags to carry essentials for a weekend outing. Your choice of fabrics can transform the bag from casual daytime outing to a fancier evening bag for a night out.
This bag has a unique construction method and it is fast and easy to make! There are 2 slip pockets and 1 zippered pocket on the inside of the bag.
SUPPLIES:
Exterior fabric:
1/2 yard Exterior fabric 1 (44” W)1/4 yard Exterior fabric 2 or vinyl/cork
Lining fabric:
3/4 yard Lining fabric (44” W)
Interfacing:
3.5-4 yards Fusible woven interfacing (20” wide)**1/4 yard Fusible fleece (45” wide)
15” W x 10” H Firm Sew-in Stabilizer (Pellon Peltex 70/Stiff Stuff interfacing)
Notions and Supplies:
(1) 12” zipper OR 13” of zipper tape (single or double pull)(1) 8” zipper or 10” of zipper tape
(2) 1” swivel clasps
(1) 1” rectangle slide
(2) 1” D-rings OR
If making grommet tabs for Hip bag, you’ll need:
(2) 1/2” or 14mm grommets
OPTIONAL: 24” of piping for cross body, 20” for Hip bag
** Quantity of fusible woven interfacing will vary depending on your fabric choices.

Hip bag: 10.5” W x 5.75” H x 3” D (26.7 cm x 14.6 cm x 7.62 cm)
