The Meadowsweet Mini Crossbody Bag - PDF Sewing Pattern

The Meadowsweet is a mini crossbody bag with a front zippered pocket and a detachable zipper pouch on the back. Inside the bag are 4 slip pockets and the detachable zipper pouch has 6 card slots for a total of 11 pockets.

The main bag has an adjustable crossbody strap and the detachable zipper pouch has an optional crossbody strap. The detachable pouch itself is optional and the card slots may be added inside the bag or the exterior front zipper pocket.

This bag has a binding finish using 1" wide fold-over elastic.

The recommend materials are cork/vinyl for the exterior and waterproof canvas for most of the lining pieces. This means less interfacing and a faster sewing time. Fabric can be used for any parts but then additional interfacing would be needed. See video 1 (linked below) for more information.

Exterior fabric:

1/2 yard Cork fabric/Faux leather or Vinyl (54” wide)

Lining fabric:

1/2 yard Waterproof canvas (60” wide)
Fat quarter cotton fabric (22” W x 18” H)

Interfacing:

Fat Quarter Fusible woven interfacing (22” W x 18” H)
1/2 yard Firm sew-in interfacing (ex: Peltex 70, Lazy Girl Stiff Stuff) (20” wide)

Notions and Supplies:

(2) 1 1/2” swivel clasp
(1) 1 1/2” rectangle slide
(1) 14” double pull zipper (#4.5, #5)
(1) 9 1/2” single pull zipper (#4.5, #5)

SEWING EXPERIENCE: This pattern is suited for an intermediate bag maker who has previous zipper installation experience however beginners are encouraged to try with the help of the free video tutorial below. There isn't much interfacing to be done for this bag making it a faster sew - probably around 6 hours for the first one.
