Chicago Screws - MAPLE LEAF - set of 4
These chicago screws can be used instead of rivets. You can use them to attach strap connectors to your bag or straps to your connector hardware.
Set of 4 chicago screws.
Post length: 6mm
Measurements: 13mm wide x 17mm high
INSTALLATION TIPS:
1. Compare the thickness of the materials where you would like to install your screw. If your materials are less than 6mm thick, it is HIGHLY recommended to add a scrap of Peltex or similar so that the area is at least 6mm thick.*** I add Peltex so that it will not show in the final product. In the photo below, there is a small triangle shaped piece of Peltex hidden inside the connector.
***If your materials are too thick, your screw will not be able to attach to the post properly.
2. Punch out a hole that is slightly smaller than the post so it fits snugly. You do not want your chicago screw to be loose and wiggle once installed.
3. Insert the decorative part of the chicago screw through the right side of your strap/connector and add a drop of LOCTITE glue OR E6000 glue in the hole. Quickly insert the screw and tighten with a screwdriver. If you happen to get glue on the back of the screw, quickly remove with a small amount of acetone on a cotton swab, being careful not to touch any surrounding fabric or faux leather/cork.
