The Rose Gathered Shoulder Bag - PDF Sewing Pattern

The Rose Gathered Shoulder bag is a pretty bag with a focus panel in the center and 2 coordinating panels on either side. Both sides of the bag have 2 channels sewn to add a fabric tie which you can tie into a bow or a knot depending on the look you prefer. The bag stays closed with a flap and magnetic snap or turn lock. The update also now includes the option for a zippered main closure. The bottom of the bag has 8 pleats to give it depth.

On the inside of the bag, there are 3 slip pockets and 1 zippered pocket.

SUPPLIES:

Exterior fabric*: 

1 yard of Exterior fabric (Side panels, Flap Closure and Straps)
½ yard Accent fabric (Accent Panel and ties)

Lining fabric:

1 yard Quilt Weight Cotton (44” W)

Interfacing:

3 yards Fusible woven interfacing (20” wide)
1/2 yard Fusible fleece (45” wide)
(1) Piece of firm sew-in interfacing (ex: Peltex or Stiff Stuff) that is 7” W x 6” H for tab closure ** TURN LOCK ONLY

Notions and Supplies:

(1) 18mm magnetic snap OR
(1) turn lock 
(4) 1” or 1.5” O-rings
(1) 9” zipper (#3 dress zipper) for interior pocket
(1) 12” zipper or 12” of zipper tape for main closure (#4.5 or #5)
(1) metal zipper end

* Quilt weight cotton is recommended for this bag since the sides will need to gather easily. A very thin vinyl MAY work but it will be harder to gather.
